To the Premier:
The Saskatchewan government is borrowing hundreds of millions of dollars and increasing the province’s debt.
This debt is forcing Saskatchewan taxpayers to cover hundreds of millions of dollars in interest payments every year. Those are resources that cannot go back into highways or hospitals or tax relief.
More importantly, increasing the province’s debt by hundreds of millions of dollars will place a huge financial burden on our children and grandchildren who will have to pay these loans.
We the undersigned call upon the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan to stop diving back into debt and instead recommit to reducing the province’s debt.
