CALGARY, AB: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) is pleased to welcome Franco Terrazzano as the new Alberta Director.

“We’re excited to welcome Franco to the team and to have his enthusiasm and deep understanding of economic policy issues to fight on behalf of Alberta’s taxpayers,” said CTF Vice President, Communications Scott Hennig.

With an election expected next spring, Franco will be working to push all political parties to put together taxpayer-friendly platforms.

“Alberta hasn’t had a truly balanced budget in more than a decade and whichever party forms the next government, serious action needs to be taken,” said Terrazzano. “I look forward to advocating for taxpayer-friendly platforms and holding politicians’ feet to the fire once they are elected.”  

Franco joins the CTF after spending time as an economic policy analyst with the Calgary Chamber of Commerce and as a fellow with Canadian Constitution Foundation. Franco has produced multiple reports and op-eds on the costs associated with tax increases, inefficient government and the unintended consequences of public policies.

Franco completed his Master of Public Policy and Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degrees at the University of Calgary. Franco also played on the University of Calgary’s baseball team, and did a quick stint in Europe playing for the Amsterdam Bombers baseball club.
