CTF calls for changes to Calgary council pension plan

Author: 1969/12/31

A report released by Interim Alberta Director Colin Craig showed over the last decade taxpayers have contributed $5.8 million Calgary council pension fund, with councilors only contributing $1.2 million. This does not include any payment taxpayers made to a secretive second pension top up that councilors also receive. The CTF called for the plan to be transformed to a defined contribution plan where taxpayers match city councilor contributions equally.
