Colin Craig named CTF Interim Alberta Director as Paige MacPherson begins maternity leave

Author: Paige MacPherson 2017/07/31

CALGARY, AB: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) is pleased to announce that our Alberta Director, Paige MacPherson, will be taking her maternity leave effective July 31, 2017, and is delighted to welcome our Interim Alberta Director, Colin Craig, during that time.

“We’re both excited for Paige and her growing family and to have Colin back on the CTF team,” said CTF Vice President, Communications Scott Hennig.

Craig laid out some of the CTF’s top priorities in Alberta for the coming year: “With Alberta’s debt soaring, being hit with credit downgrade after credit downgrade, it’s crucial that the government is pushed to get the province back on track,” said Craig. “That means seriously reducing government spending and entitlement, and eliminating burdensome tax hikes like the carbon tax. I will continue fighting on behalf of CTF supporters to see these changes made.”

Craig has a solid history with the CTF, having served as CTF Manitoba and Prairie Director in Winnipeg from 2008 to 2015. During that time, he was instrumental in the organization’s push for the First Nations Financial Transparency Act and played a major role in exposing questionable contracts at the City of Winnipeg, contributing to the current RCMP investigation into the Winnipeg Police headquarters project.

Colin earned his MBA and BA (economics) from the University of Manitoba and is the author of The Government Wears Prada; a book that explores how governments can prepare for our nation’s aging population.

Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Colin and his wife now call Calgary home.

Craig will be available for media interviews, speaking engagements and will write bi-weekly commentaries under the Let’s Talk Taxes banner. Colin can be followed on Twitter @colincraig1.

Paige MacPherson will be on maternity leave until September 17, 2018.
