Canadian Taxpayers Federation Reacts to Federal Fall Economic Statement

Author: Aaron Wudrick 2016/11/01

OTTAWA, ON: Canadian Taxpayers Federation Federal Director Aaron Wudrick released the following statement in response to Finance Minister Bill Morneau’s Fall Economic Statement:

“The Trudeau government’s decision to double down on the failed approach of endless deficit spending will saddle Canadians with more than $130 billion in additional debt by 2022. By choosing to expand their binge rather than scaling back, they have demonstrated a total inability to make difficult choices with finite resources, and instead opted to borrow from tomorrow to spend today. With no plan whatsoever to balance the budget, all Canadians will pay a heavy price for their spending spree.”
