BC: Chopping Down Trees in Gregor's Greenest City

The south False Creek seawall in Vancouver is a beautiful walk any time of year. But in the spring, as the cherry blossoms bloom, it is magnificent.

Or was magnificent.

In the latest edition of Mayor Gregor Robertson's Greenest City lunacy, the City has chopped down a few dozen trees to make room for (what else?) another bike lane.

Here's a before and after shot, side-by-side:

Greenest city? Sure, Gregor.
