To the surprise of no one who has followed TransLink’s cost control over the years, the Compass Card program is massively over budget. 24 Hours reports that the system, originally costed at $171 million is now $23.2 million over budget ($194.2 million). That’s an overrun of 13.5 per cent.
Of course, there is no guarantee that this will be the final tab, or include every cost involved with Compass. Time will tell…
