Ever read something online you wish you had written? It happened to me twice today.
First, CityHallWatch has an excellent and terribly ironic post on how they had to use the Freedom of Information Act to get ahold of the meeting notes from the City of Vancouver’s special Mayor’s Engaged City Task Force. Engaged cities are cities with access to information, but this particular task force seemed to miss that obvious point.
Then, former NDP MLA and economist David Schreck shreds the environmentalists’ nonsense that the carbon tax is working. The most damning statistic: fuel consumption was falling BEFORE the carbon tax was introduced. He also points out how these pro-carbon tax findings run completely counter to proper economic theory: If true, economics text books need to be re-written. It’s highly unlikely that decades of economic study could be so wrong.

Is anyone listening to you to find out where you think Canada’s off track and what you think we could do to make things better?
