BC: Cost of BCTF Demands

Author: Jordan Bateman 2014/09/03

As the B.C. School Strike (Fall Edition) enters day 2, we have been receiving some emails and calls asking how far apart the two sides actually are.

If you’re interested in the excruciating minutiae of this negotiation – or you want to channel your inner Vince Ready and try and mediate a deal – it’s worth taking a look at the B.C. Public School Employers’ Association website. They have all sorts of bargaining updates, including costing of BCTF proposals. (The BCTF disputes some of this costing, but refuse to provide its own cost estimates – thus giving the BCPSEA numbers credibility.)

The BCPSEA website is here, and the costing of the BCTF’s latest offer is here.
