Mayor Dianne Watts and Mayor Peter Fast-spender are again campaigning to get their hands on the ‘Revenue Neutral Carbon Tax’.

Carbon Tax... In 2008, it was absolutely sworn on a stack of bibles by Gordon Campbell and Carole Taylor to be Revenue Neutral! ...“By law every cent of carbon tax revenue will be returned to the taxpayers in tax cuts”.

In reality this is done by smoke and mirrors slippery accounting, mostly by claiming that reductions in Corporate, Industrial, Small Business and Personal taxes will offset the $1.2 billion Carbon Tax revenue this year.

Just as we suspected, looks like it only took 4 years for the big spending politicians to try to manipulate the Carbon Tax for another money grab. For us consumers it’s not a ‘neutral revenue’, it’s an unnecessary tax-scam that rips us off.

Some of the so called ‘Revenue Neutral’... ‘Personal taxes’ portion is mailed back to low income families, so now the mayors are proposing to take that away and have the poor subsidize Translink?

Will the Liberals hand it over to Translink in this election year when they are desperate to show revenue?  The NDP are also proposing to fund TransLink this way.

Why do these do-gooder ego-puffed politicians keep patting themselves on the back when in reality they are ruining a lot of lives by saddling future generations with impossible debt loads?  Never mind us struggling taxpayers trying to live our lives now.

The CTF has the right idea to scrap the whole Carbon Bureaucracy which would save $billions to our economy.
