Troy Lanigan was appointed president and CEO of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation January 1, 2009, after serving the organization in various capacities since 1992 including British Columbia spokesperson from 1993-1999. 

Shannon Morrison

Shannon Morrison, born and raised in Regina, has worked at the Canadian Taxpayers Federation in the administration office since 1997.  She recently took on the role of Administration Manager. 

Shannon is married, has two children and a dog.  In her spare time she likes to help out at her church working with the youth ministry and doing Sunday school with the pre-school children.  She also keeps busy volunteering with scouts and her local soccer association.

Melanie Harvie

Melanie grew up in Flin Flon, Manitoba then moved to Winnipeg to attend Robertson College where she earned a diploma in Office Administration. 

Right after graduation Melanie was hired by the CTF as a Research Assistant in the Winnipeg office.  She began working on her CGA, and now works out of the Regina office as Financial Manager.

Melanie and her husband keep very busy at home with their new baby, Grace.

Dean Smith

Dean was born and grew up in Saskatchewan.

Before coming to the CTF in 1992, Dean worked in the communications industry in capacities ranging from design to writing. Dean is the CTF's webmaster, graphic designer, and publisher of the CTF's flagship publication The Taxpayer.  Dean also monitors government waste to produce the popular Waste Watch section of the Taxpayer. Dean completed his undergraduate degree in Geography at the University of Regina and his masters degree at the Canadian Theological Seminary.
