To the Premier:

The current property tax system is unpredictable, unfair and punitive to property owners. Year after year, homeowners are left guessing how much their property tax bill will be. Municipal spending has spiraled out of control because municipal councils first decide how much to spend then decide by how much to raise taxes to pay for the spending spree.

Its time to give taxpayers certainty!

We the undersigned demand that municipal spending be brought under control. The province must cap property taxes at current rates, limit increases to the consumer price index (CPI) and any increases beyond the CPI should be subject to local voter approval.
