Lower the blended sales tax

To the Premier of Ontario:

When the Blended Sales Tax comes into effect on July 1, 2010, the cost of many items will increase by 8 per cent. These include gasoline, diesel, home electricity, TV service, home internet, home phone, cell phone charges and a range of other services.  These rising costs will hurt the pocketbooks of families and struggling individuals at a time when they can afford it least.

THEREFORE, we the undersigned respectfully request that Parliament reduce the BST from 13 per cent to 10 and raise the Basic Personal Exemption to relieve the burden on taxpayers.
