Recycling Fee on Web Cameras
I experienced the most ridiculous thing when I bought a webcam.
The webcam was $19.99 and there was a $2.75 recycling fee applied, which is actually $3.00 because HST tax is applied.
This fee was not displayed anywhere in the store (Staples), and I only discovered on the cash register display it when the product was scanned.
The webcam is smaller than most Happy Meal toys, and is RoHS compliant which means it has virtually no lead, mercury, or other hazardous materials.
After speaking with other computer shops, I discovered that these fees can vary from store to store; one store said that they would only charge $0.40 and they were even told that they can apply a mark-up (make a profit) on the recycling fee.
Unlike the ECO Fee, the recycling fees are still in effect.
What a rip-off!
Eco Tax
This Government will not only get voted out but Ontario will loose millions as people go outside th eprovince to buy items and it will drive the underground economy even more. These so called elected members are out of touch with reality.
The Ecofee
I was totally outraged the other day when I bought bleach At CT for 1 dollar and the Ecofee was 37 cents!! How in the hell is bleach hazardous??? We use chlorine to purify our water and we use bleach to whiten our whites!! Oh my god...someone please give Royal Dalton an xtra large dose of smelling salts...oh shit that may have the dreaded fee on it too...never mind, a cup of black Tims ecoffe will do!!! I pray the conservative win with Mr. Hudak!! Lets bring back Mike the knife and the common sense revolution!!! Royal Dalton doesn't know what common sense is...he has no sense at all!!!! Just one more thing...I wrote MR Marin today...I joined this group and wrote MR Hudak all over this Ecofee!!
PS...Mr Andre Marin is the one we should have in some political capacity...dear god bless the man and as well Sheila Fraser...and yes the Taxpayer Federation too!!! I at least got to vent...next election I will vent again....with the ballot!!!!
Mike
