The Taxpayer

TaxpayerThe Vancouver Sun calls it “a Playboy magazine for taxpayers.  Titillating, eyebrow raising, a bit shocking.”  The Taxpayer magazine “bountiful with information and numbers that rivet attention” is the flagship publication of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.

Published four times a year, it goes to CTF donors and politicians across the country.  It provides analysis, campaign updates, guest commentaries, along with horror stories and success stories alike.  In 2009, the magazine was increased in length to 48 pages and improved in paper quality.

Below is a sample issue from Spring 2009 that details the country’s plunge back into deficits, analyzes subsidies to federal political parties and summarizes CTF activities in 2008.

Canada's Federal Debt

The federal government is adding $88 million a day to our debt. At this rate, the $105-billion in debt repayment between 1997 – 2008 will be wiped out this year. Support our campaign for a federal balanced budget law and help us STOP this clock.
