In its 2008 pre-budget submission to the Manitoba government, the Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) calls for debt repayment, tax relief and more patient choice in health care. Building a prosperous future for Manitoba

The Manitoba chapter of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation is grateful for the opportunity to present its findings and recommendations for the 2008/09 Manitoba budget.

The provincial government has earned praise from some financial institutions that paid tribute to the ccomplishments of last year's budget: scheduled debt payments, a balanced budget, and individual and business tax cuts. The Canadian Taxpayers Federation, in consultation with our supporters, urges the provincial government to augment these measures in the 2008/09 Budget.

The CTF's plan for Manitoba's fiscal foundation is built on the pillars of debt reduction, tax relief, and reducing spending. Tax relief is not only demanded and warranted, but will also act as a catalyst for greater government revenues. The CTF believes improvements to ...
