End Bracket Creep

Manitoba is one of three provinces in Canada that has yet to protect taxpayers by indexing its tax system for inflation.

Because the government has not made the change, it can secretly increase Manitobans' incomes taxes each year without being seen to increase the rates.

The problem is known as "bracket creep" and since 1999 alone, bracket creep is costing taxpayers with incomes above $40,000 an extra $156 each year in income taxes.

For those with incomes above $75,000, it's costing you an extra $482 per year!

To learn more about bracket creep, watch this CTF video blog on the matter.
