NB: No tax hikes
New Brunswick has a spending problem, not a taxation problem.
Consider this, since 2005-06 the New Brunswick government has increased spending by $1.7 Billion.
Spending has increased more in the last five years than at any point in New Brunswick’s history. That’s more than during the great depression, than the great world wars and more than the stock market crash of the 1980’s.
Spending is out of control, and its time to do something about it.
If you and/or your family are spending more than you earned, you’d cut back. And that’s what we are asking the government to do.
Premier David Alward during the last election campaign, promised he wouldn’t raise taxes, and would balance the budget by 2013-14.
Let’s hold him to that promise, support our campaign and work with us to tell the Premier not to raise taxes and do what average New Brunswickers have to do…live within their means.
Sign our petition, and contact your officials…
Update: In the first Alward budget, there were no increases in the sales taxes or income taxes. A small step forward but need to hold their feet to the fire to ensure that they keep to their no tax commitment.
