It's time to move before Alberta's debt clock starts ticking Time to balance the budget
This year Alberta is expected to run a $1.3 billion deficit.
However, if spending had only increased by population plus inflation since 2005, there would be a $7.8 billion surplus today. Alberta has a spending problem, not a revenue problem.
