Bill C-391 to End the Long Gun Registry

Registering firearms has proved not to enhance public safety in any way. Criminals don't register their firearms. I would like to see the money spent on the registry and licensing spent on issues that actually benefit Canadians; i.e. health care, education, infrastructure, debt reduction the list goes on...

Registry costs $106 million

I like the fact that people have to register their firearms. It shouldn't be just long guns. The problem I have is why in the heck it costs over 100 million dollars a year to maintain it. That is simply absurd and is almost certainly due to more 'pigs at the trough'. Sheila should audit that as well to find out how many MP's have there kids working summers on this... at $50.00 an hour!!   :)

It shouldn't be just long guns. - End the Long Gun Registry

"It shouldn't be just long guns." -- Hand guns have been licensed and controlled in Canada since 1934. Would someone please explain the effectiveness and justification of the costs of a firearms registry and licensing to me in regards to reducing let alone stopping criminals from using firearms. Canadians need to be spending these hundreds of millions of dollars on societal essentials such as health care, education, infrastructure and debt reduction.

Canada's Federal Debt

The federal government is adding $88 million a day to our debt. At this rate, the $105-billion in debt repayment between 1997 – 2008 will be wiped out this year. Support our campaign for a federal balanced budget law and help us STOP this clock.
