Review to Renew: A return to principles of transparency and accountability

The information created by government belongs to the people.  This review of the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPP Act) is an opportunity to renew the principles  of open and transparent government, as well as timely, effective and affordable access to the documents which governments make and keep. As government encroaches into more aspects of our daily lives and increases spending to do that, a return to those principles is more important than ever. This report provides two key recommendations that will help make government more accountable to the taxpayer.
