Fine Tune the PST

Taxpayers across British Columbia have voted down the HST, preferring to return to the old familiarity of the PST.

The Provincial Sales Tax has always been an awkward beast. We believe most British Columbians would be open to some improvements to the back-end of the PST—how it is collected. There is no point wasting tax dollars on collecting taxes!

We are urging the Premier and Finance Minister to consider out-of-the-box solutions to collecting the PST. Could the Province outsource PST collection to the federal government, paying Ottawa to operate that system? This would relieve Victoria of having to hire back hundreds of people to collect the PST, while still giving the public what it voted for—the old PST with its numerous exemptions.

Help us by signing our petition and emailing the Premier and Finance Minister with your ideas on make the collection of the PST better.
