This is Harper Government Belt Tightening?

A quick surf of the government contract website reveals more silly Harper government spending as the fiscal year winds down.

Industry Canada contract for $1 milion for retirment planning for employees and their spouses! Really?! As if the lucrative salaries and pensions weren't enough. Perhaps it includes a session on how to handicap your golf game.

House of Commons to purchase 453 custom built new lamps for 62 MPs; 124 floor lamps, 205 table lamps, and 124 desk lamps. This contract is 50 pages long! No wonder government procurement is a mess. Even heard of WalMart?

CIDA is dropping up to $5 million on the development and delivery of training of some kind for "Volontary [sic] Sector Capacity"..whatever the hell that means.

Excuse me, Minister Day, start cutting here!!
