The latest on the gun registry
After an arduous journey, the CTF will indeed get to speak to a committee of MPs about the wasteful and ineffective gun registry. CTF Federal Director Kevin Gaudet will testify before the Public Safety and Security Committee regarding Bill C-391 on May 25. By the way, our presence there had nothing to do with the gun lobby in the United States, contrary to assertions made in the Toronto Star. I repeat, the National Rifle Association has nothing to do with the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, nor have we received funds from them.
No, the battle to end the misguided long gun registry is home grown. By example, we received a note from Tomm Penner worth passing on:
I operate the facebook group, 'I SUPPORT BILL C-391'. Thanks for your work and please feel free to invite others to join our presence on Facebook.
Bill C-391 calls for an end to the long gun registry. The CTF does not have a facebook page on this issue and there is no sense duplicating the wheel, so please join if you are interested. What we do have is a campaign page and a petition you are encouraged to sign.
