Born and raised in Winnipeg, Colin graduated from the University of Manitoba with degree in economics. While pursuing his studies, he worked for the Provincial Government as an assistant to the Minister of Education and as a researcher.
Following graduation, Colin served as a policy advisor in the Minister of Finance's office in Toronto, Ontario. He later gained significant insight into municipal affairs while employed as the Project Director for the City of Winnipeg's Economic Opportunity Commission.
Colin's experience extends into the private sector. He assisted an internet-based vehicle importing firm with business development and worked as a data analyst for a Winnipeg polling firm.
In his spare time, Colin enjoys participating in a wide variety of sports, reading and is currently pursuing his masters in business administration. Colin has traveled around the world and spent three years living in Japan.
