Reform the MLA pension plan: New Brunswick

To New Brunswick’s political party leaders:

MLA’s receive a pension plan that is far richer than anything that taxpaying New Brunswickers receive. For every dollar contributed by an MLA, taxpayers contribute sixteen dollars.

This kind of pension program is far too expensive for taxpayers to support, at a time when the government is running huge deficits.

We the undersigned demand that the current MLA pension program be scrapped and replaced with an RRSP defined contribution plan in which taxpayer contribute no more than $1 for every $1 contributed by an MLA.
