To the Premier:

After 14 straight balanced budgets, 2008 saw a return to deficits in Alberta. These deficits are a direct result of a decade of wild spending increases. Had the provincial government held spending growth to modest levels, the 14 year streak would have continued. Your government has a spending problem, not a revenue problem. To ensure Alberta taxpayers aren’t saddled with a multi-billion dollar debt to clean up, your government must fix its spending problem and balance the budget.

We the undersigned call on your government to cut spending and balance the provincial budget.
